The 2024 International Dialogue on North Korean Human Rights,
hosted by the Ministry of Unification of South Korea
and organized by Human Asia, is a multilateral forum
at which governments, academia, and civil society can
engage in discussions on North Korean human rights.
The dialogue, convened annually in Seoul since 2022,
is to have two meetings this year: the first event
will be held in Washington, D.C. on July 22-23 and
the second in Geneva in October.
The overarching objective of these conventions is to share the
reality of North Korean human rights with the international
community and to expand international solidarity
for improving human rights in North Korea.
The first dialogue in D.C. will specifically focus on the
'Report on North Korean Human Rights'—which the
Ministry of Unification is expected to release by the end
of June 2024—the role of the international community
after the COI report, and discussions among UN experts.
